As part of our coproduction work with parents, carers and young people a new SEND outcomes framework has been developed and is now ready to share.
Outcomes are the things that parents want for the lives of their children and young people. We asked parents / carers of children with SEND and SEND young people in Luton want they felt were the most important priorities at our outcomes workshop. It was agreed the following were the top six outcomes:
- I want to be healthy – physically and mentally
- I want to be safe
- I want to be the best that I can be
- I want to do as much for myself as possible
- I want to be part of the community
- I want to be heard
We will be gathering evidence to demonstrate how we know are making a difference to children and young people’s lives and this will be reported quarterly to the SEND Strategic Improvement Group. We will be making use of surveys and of qualitative data sets to show if we are making a difference to the lives of the children and young people we work with.
Please see attached a new poster, which provides more information about our SEND outcomes.
