November SEND newsletter introduction

Welcome to our November SEND newsletter for professionals. I do hope you find the content useful and relevant to your work.

In this edition we cover some important new areas namely our new free SEND training offer for all professionals working in Luton and information about the Lead Professional role for SEND and again supporting training.  Please can I ask you to share this newsletter with your colleagues and teams as we development our mailing list. If you are reading this and would like to receive your own copy then please do email us on

We have been busy gathering the views of SEND parents, carers, children and young people about the services that provide support and how we can work better together  to improve outcomes for our children and young people. Colleagues have been very helpful in supporting this with focus groups for parents and easy to read questions for children and young people. However there is always more to do in ensuring we can capture as many views as possible and if you can help with this please contact me on We also have online surveys available for those parents who are comfortable to complete an online survey.

As part of our SEND improvement work is it vital for us to collate evidence of impact for SEND children and young people and their families. If you have any examples of where your team/service/ setting have evidence of impact, please let me know and we can discuss the best way for this to be recorded; it could be as a case study, photographic evidence or film. This information will be shared with parents and carers and also used as evidence of our improvement journey when we are re visited by Ofsted and CQC.  Contact

With best wishes
