Crisis

Crisis is the national charity for single homeless people. Our purpose is to end homelessness.

Crisis helps people rebuild their lives through housing, health, education and employment services. We work with thousands of homeless people across the UK and have plans to work with many more.

We are also determined campaigners, working to prevent people from becoming homeless and to change the way society and government thinks and acts towards homeless people.

Education - Learning to use a computer at our IT classes moves people closer to employment and financial stability, while literacy and numeracy classes help people cope better with everyday life, budgeting or paying the bills.

Employment - Our CV writing workshops and support with job searching, interview techniques, education and training, give people the skills and confidence to move towards employment and financial independence.

Health and wellbeing - Through one-to-one mental health coaching, drop-in opticians’ services, and support accessing GPs, we help people regain their physical and mental wellbeing after the isolation and hardship of homelessness.

Housing - As it’s often the only option for homeless people, Crisis is determined to make renting work. Supported by Government funding, we enable hundreds of local housing projects to help homeless people rent privately. Our housing coaches support clients on a one-to-one basis to help them find somewhere to live. Crisis’ Renting Ready course helps clients sustain their tenancy, with information on everything from paying bills to organising repairs.
