Infant feeding support
In order to deliver the best possible patient care during the Coronavirus outbreak, we will be reorganising aspects of children's services that are provided and delivered by CCS NHS Trust. Please see the details on our public website (https://www.cambscommunityservices.nhs.uk/luton/childrens/luton-children's-how-coronavirus-is-affecting-our-services) for which services will be continuing, what changes will be made, and what will be suspended until further notice. Please also check back to this page in future for further updates.
Infant feeding support is part of the Luton health visiting service, and delivered in partnership with Flying Start Luton.
We are a dedicated team of support workers with specialist skills in supporting mothers with breastfeeding.
We talk about the benefits of breastfeeding and how to make it work for you, and also train other health professionals so they can support mums and signpost to available resources.
We ring you shortly after your baby is born to offer support at home or on the phone.
Support for breast feeding will be delivered in partnership with the Health Visiting Service and Flying Start staff who can also continue to provide support for as long as required.
