Singing Cafe - Sundon Park Baptist Church

Sing and dance your blues away at our friendly community café!

This is a free cafe aimed at supporting those who are on their own, people living with a adisability and people diagnosed with Dementia and their carers.  Others are welcome too for tea, coffee, home-made cakes and an old-fashioned sing-along!

Singing - and dancing - is proving very helpful to people's physical health and their emotional state, and we are hearing reports of people's mobility, speech and breathing improving. The carers enjoy coming too as they can get back in touch with their loved ones as they sing and dance to tunes that both can recall.

We contacted the local branch of the Alzheimer's Society and other related concerns, to let them know of our existence, and after initial visits we now receive referrals from several caring organisations.

Also word is getting round in the community and most weeks we see new faces. We are especially helpful to those newly-diagnosed with dementia as we provide support, understanding and a listening ear, especially to carers.

Our Singing Café runs from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm every Friday.
