Luton Fostering Service

Fostering is one of many services by Luton Borough Council to support families in crisis. Wherever we can, we try to keep families together. Sadly this isn’t always possible and some children have to be removed from their families. Sometimes parents agree to their children coming into council care. At other times a court will make a Care Order ordering us to look after a particular child.

Foster Care means looking after one of these children in your home until they can either go back to their family or until we can find them a new permanent home. In Luton we believe that the best place for most children who can’t live with their families is with foster carers. Foster carers are the only people who can give these children their greatest chance of a stable and secure future.
