Jill Jenkins Court

Jill Jenkins Court at Farley Hill is an extra care sheltered housing scheme built in 2010.

Tenants rent their own private flat from the landlord Bedfordshire Pilgrims Housing Association (bpha) and are encouraged to use the enclosed garden as well as the laundry, hairdressing salon, electric buggy store, communal rooms for meeting other residents and enjoying social activities, and guest flats for family and friends.

All rooms are linked to a 24-hour alarm system with staff on site at all times to deal with any problems. The Court is secured by a coded access gate and door entry.

Jill Jenkins Court is designed to make it as easy as possible for people to remain living independently, with practical features such as wide corridors for easy wheelchair and buggy access, level access showers (wetrooms) and equipment.

Sheltered housing is generally for people over 60, although if you are younger you will be considered if you have a disability or have a need for community care. Priority is given to applicants who would most benefit from this type of accommodation.

If you think you might need ‘extra care’ sheltered housing you will have to have your needs assessed by Adult Social Care. They might be able to help you in other ways too.
