The pre-school is open from 8.30am till 3.45pm. We offer day care for children aged between 2-5 years of age. Care is provided term time only, 38 weeks per year. Children aged 3 and 4 are automatically eligible for 15 free government hours the term following their birthday. Two year olds may also be eligible for 15 hours of free funding depending on their eligibility. We also accept children who may be eligible for 30 hours too. The morning session operates Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 12.15pm and the afternoon session from 12.45pm to 3.45pm. Extended care is also available at an additional cost.

Here at Hightown Pre-school we aim to:

Provide high quality care and education for children primarily below statutory school age.
Work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop.
Add to the life and well-being of its stakeholders and local community.
Offer children and their parents a service which promotes equality and values diversity.
Help children gain greater confidence in using the English language, especially if it is a second language.
Prepare children for the Reception year using basic literacy and numeracy skills, using the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS).
Create an atmosphere that encourages the development of desirable behaviour and social skills, as well as emotional well-being.
