The Pre-School consists of a lobby with a disabled toilet, an office area, a main area, a separate toilet for the children and a fenced off garden area with both grass and soft tarmac. The main room has areas to ensure that children are stimulated and engaged.

We have a multi-functional smaller room which is used for quiet games, resting, circle times and differentiated activities to ensure children are challenged and involved.
Our activities are planned from the interests of the children, as maintained by the Early Years Outcomes. Some examples of these activities include: role play, tactile activities such as shaving foam, corn flour, play dough, creative activities, number recognition, social skills, construction activities, gardening, bike riding, dancing and ring games.

We take pride in being involved in Family Food First and promote healthy eating throughout the setting at lunch and snack times.

We have a responsibility to enforce positive attitudes to diversity and difference, and to ensure that children are not disadvantaged and that they learn from an early age to value diversity. All children irrespective of their ethnicity, culture or religion, home language, family background, learning difficulties or disabilities, gender or ability have the opportunity to experience a challenging and enjoyable programme of learning. All children have the right to access equipment, resources and activities promoting diversity.

The pre-school has a detailed policy and procedure on safeguarding. The welfare of all children is vital and they will be treated with the utmost importance. Every child has the right to be protected and it is everyone’s responsibility to protect children. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying and encourage positive attitudes and relationships within our setting.
