Hate Crime

Hate crime is any criminal offence which is perceived by the victim or any other person as being motivated by prejudice or hate, based on a person’s race, religious belief, sexual orientation, disability or transgender, or a person’s perceived race, religious belief, sexual orientation, disability or transgender. 

Hate Crime can be.......
Physical violence and assault, verbal abuse, obscene calls or texts, offensive mail, email or graffiti.  It can be damage to property, arson, dumping of rubbish, offensive or dangerous substances posted through letterboxes, or taking advantage of someone’s vulnerable situation.
