Anchors

Each week The Boys' Brigade works with thousands of young people, many of whom have no other connection with the Church. The Boys' Brigade provides a balanced programme of activities for children and young people from 5 to 18 years old. The Anchor Section is the youngest section in the Boys’ Brigade and is for children aged between 5 and 8.

Please Note: Ages for joining vary from group to group, please check with your local group

The Anchor Section has lots of fun doing different activities which include making things, crafts, music, games, sports, stories, going on visits, making friends, and working towards their badges. All of this is done as part of a balanced programme that is separated into 5 different zones;

  • Me and the world (Community)
  • God and me (Spirit)
  • Fit for fun (Body)
  • Think and do (Mind)
  • Make and do (Creativity)

Everything a child in the Anchor Section does helps them to develop and to think for themselves, in a safe environment.

The Anchor Section has a special uniform that they can wear. As everyone wears the same thing they feel as though they belong. However nobody is excluded because they do not have the right clothes.  The weekly section meeting would usually run for 1-1½ hours and be finished by 7.30pm.

If you are interested in joining The Boys' Brigade, whether as a child or young person; or as a volunteer please get in touch with us and we can provide you with more details including where your nearest group is located.
