Alicia Nursing Home (inc Wingfield Unit)

Alicia is a purpose built home, named after the owner's mother, which was opened in 1993 and has now merged with Wingfield House which is adjacent to Alicia and Atwell House and provides both nursing and residential care. It provides care across the three units to Service Users with physical disabilities, dementia, learning disability and mental health needs, both over and under 65 years of age.
Located in the Leagrave area of Luton and within walking distance of Local Shops, Banks, Post Office, Library and the British Legion Club. The home is approximately one mile from junction 11 of the M1 motorway and easy access to Leagrave Railway Station.
Accommodation
The accommodation at Alicia is arranged on three floors, each floor being run as a separate unit with lounge and kitchenette facilities. There is a communal dining room on the ground floor. Offering 33 single and two shared rooms some with en suite facilities. Specially adapted bathrooms with Argo 'hi-lo' baths and special hoists are available for the needs of the Service Users. A Nurse call system with access to modern assistive technology is in situ to summon staff assistance when necessary and alert staff. Passenger lift to serve all floors. Wingfield Unit offers 24 single rooms making a total capacity of 61.
