Emotional Wellbeing & Behaviour Support - BrightPaths

BrightPaths Support CIC is dedicated to nurturing children and young people's social, emotional and mental health.
We're currently providing fully funded support for young people age 11+ living in or attending school in Luton.
Our mission is to support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of whose who are:
- not eligible for alternative means of support
- falling between the cracks in provision
We aim to provide support as early as possible to stop people from falling into the river, rather than waiting for their wellbeing to decline before pulling them out of the river later.
This project aims to work with schools, social services, CAMHs and young people to support those at risk of or vulnerable to criminal behaviour and exploitation. Which may be due to any of the following risk factors:
- disadvantaged backgrounds
- childhood adverse experiences
- BAME backgrounds
- emerging mental health
- low self-esteem and resilience
At Bright Paths, we specialise in supporting young people who present with challenging behaviour, emerging mental health concerns and neurological disorders such as ASD and ADHD.
Our team deliver a holistic service with interventions tailored to the needs of each young person and group. The topics we typically cover include:
- managing and understanding low-level anxiety
- positive mental health
- emotional regulation
- healthy relationships
- assertiveness
- self-esteem and resistance
- bespoke one-to-one mentoring
- group workshops
- advice, guidance and signposting
- SEN friendly
As a result of our mentorship and support, the young people we work with typically experience growth in:
- resilience and self-esteem
- improved emotional literacy
- decreased worries, stress and anxiety
- better communication and social skills
- stronger friendships
- prosocial behaviour
We work alongside families, schools, social services and local authorities to help children develop the skills and resilience needed to thrive and bounce back from the challenges in life.

Luton Rising is the owner of London Luton Airport, and we are grateful for thie grant from their community funding programme, which is managed by the Bedfordshire and Luton Community Foundation and supports us in running this project.
