About us

We believe in young people; they have lots to offer!

We love to treat everyone in a uniquely personal way and allow them a fresh start, helping them to unlock that potential.

We are GreenHouse Mentoring

…a Service for our Community and a project of Stopsley Baptist Church.

Piloted in 2000, established in 2002, we supply quality, trained, screened volunteers from diverse backgrounds who choose to consistently meet, mentor and help referred young people in Luton to: take responsibility for their actions; improve their social skills; and become more self-confident and resilient.

Our services are free to Service Users and Referrers alike. i.e. …

  • Skills Courses – Dealing with Anger, Building Self-Esteem
  • Skills & Activity Clubs –building social skills and ability to work in groups
  • One-to-One Mentoring – developing the self-confidence/ resilience of young people via weekly sessions for 12-18 months

We work with most schools, the local council and health services. Wherever possible we partner to deliver Volunteer/ Mentee awareness sessions e.g. Barclays - each year they deliver part of their Life Skills programme to our 14-18 year group, also LBC Outreach Team, Resolutions (Drugs and Alcohol service), Transitions UK, Youthscape, The Feast.

We work with University of Bedfordshire providing internships and Volunteering Opportunities and with Luton VIth Form College to help young people on the Health & Social Care course get practical experience.

Receiving the Mentoring & Befriending Foundation’s Approved Provider Standard and NCVO Investing in Volunteers standard many times, won the role model of the year award for Luton, but most importantly helped thousands to start believing in themselves and become more resilient:
