Safe at Home – Child Injury Prevention (Luton)

Every year approximately one million children are taken to hospital due to an accident that has occurred in the home, nearly half of these are children between birth and 4 years old.

The aim of Safe at Home (originating from the National RoSPA scheme 2009-2011) is to provide advice and support to help parents make the home safer and avoid accidents that may have been preventable.

We are specialists in Child Injury Prevention and work in partnership with Public Health, RoSPA, Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue Service and offer a unique free service to local families.

Safe at Home provides a free safety advice service to families with a child under the age of 5 and living in Luton.  We work with families to identify hazards in the home and provide useful tips on how to eliminate or minimise the risk of an accidental injury.

Parents are welcome to attend a parent awareness session at our local fire station where we have a real Hazard House. Sessions are bookable and provide parents with useful information and knowledge that may save lives in the future.- Contact us for details of Hazard House or view online at www.safeathomecip.org.uk

To apply for a free home risk assessment and child safety equipment you can contact us online at http://www.safeathomecip.org.uk/ and complete a confidential questionnaire to see if you qualify. If you do not qualify, we may still be able to offer you an advice only visit or a home fire safety check, this will provide you with the reassurance that your home is a safe place for your child.
