The Children’s Society Include Programme

Who do we support?

A young carer is someone under 18 who cares for another person - picks up mum’s prescription, dresses dad, takes their little sister to school. Life is demanding. But they still have to study for exams, look after themselves, and not lose sight of their dreams.

What can you expect from us?

Our Include service helps young carers, families and those who work with young carers. We want you to be healthy, happy and focused on the future. We know caring for someone can be difficult but you need to make time for yourself as well.

How to get involved with the service

Contact us for further information.

What happens after the Service has been involved?

We have a nationwide programme for young carers with links to local services and support networks.

We can help you understand your rights as a young carer, introduce you to other young carers, advise you on different ways into education and employment.

What can you do if you feel this service doesn’t meet your needs?

Search the Local Offer for other SEN Support Services, click on the pink ‘specific areas of need’ tiles or the ‘if you have concerns’ pathway.

Get in touch with the Special Educational Needs Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIAS). This team will be able talk with you about your concerns and can help you find information and support.
