Elite Day Services
Everyone has the right to continue in further education once their school days are completed. At Elite we offer an inclusive education programme, this is tailored to the needs of the individual and ensures that the curriculum works with the activities they like to do. We are based at Futures House in Luton which is opposite Lea Manor School. This gives us an ideal location to use public transport to access a wide range of community based activities which further develop and enable learning.
The process begins by carrying out a baseline assessment, looking at where that learner is when they start. We then look into where they would like to be in the future and what are that person's aspirations in life?
- Independent, Supported or Residential Living?
- Paid or voluntary employment?
- To develop confidence in social settings?
- OR simply to get the most out of life and enjoy it?
Once this has been established, we set out short and medium term targets in relation to the learner’s Long term goal whatever that may be and we track their progress, at the end of each academic year. This is to ensure that we are continuing to meet that individual’s expectations, enabling them to meet their full potential.
The work the learners do each year goes towards qualifications. Currently at Elite we follow the ASDAN Personal Progress Curriculum. This is a follow on from what some may have done at school.
