What can you expect from us?

At Sense College, you can communicate and express yourself your way.

We offer personalised learning for young people with complex disabilities, aged between 16 and 25, tailoring what you do and how you learn, to your wants and needs.

You will be supported to achieve your chosen outcomes through formal study programmes, employment, sport and leisure activities within the local community that are fun, but offer the right level of challenge for you.

We will work with you to develop your confidence and independence, and support you to fulfil your potential.

All of our centres have specially designed facilities and equipment that enhance your learning experience.

These include adapted communication environments, fully equipped life skills kitchens, assistive learning technology, interactive sensory spaces, arts and crafts rooms and sport and leisure facilities.

What happens after the Service has been involved?

Our experts offer personalised support through our centres, holidays and short breaks, or in people’s own homes. We are here for everyone who needs us, for as long as they need us – providing early intervention for children, helping young people access education, and supporting the transition into adulthood and beyond.

What can you do if you feel this service or provision doesn’t meet your needs?

Get in touch with the Transitions Team, Children with Disabilities Team or Learning Disabilities Team who will be able to give you more information and may also be able to help you find alternative provision or support.

Search the Local Offer for other SEN Support Services, click on the pink ‘specific areas of need’ tiles or the ‘if you have concerns’ pathway.

Get in touch with the Special Educational Needs Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIAS). This team will be able talk with you about your concerns and can help you find information and support.
