Tourettes Action

Tourette Syndrome is an inherited, neurological condition, they key features of which are tics, involuntary and uncontrollable sounds and movements.

Tourettes Action is the leading support and research charity for people with TS in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.  Visit our website to find out more about TS, the symptoms, causes, diagnosis and treatments.  We also have information for young people who have TS and their families.

Tourettes Action has a growing network of support groups in England, Wales and Northern Ireland coordinated by volunteers with Tourette Syndrome (TS) or who have a family member with TS.

Meeting others for support, information sharing and friendship has helped many people with TS, a condition that can be isolating. Talking with others who understand can help with self-esteem, confidence and general wellbeing.

If you can’t get to a group, we may be able to put you in touch with others in your area by email and you can also join our online Forum.

TS is often misunderstood and Tourettes Action know that professionals are often unsure how to support people with the condition.  Visit our website to read guidance specifically written for teachers, employers and doctors about working with TS.
