Rothesay Nursery School is a long established and well regarded local authority maintained nursery. The school, originally two Georgian houses which have been amalgamated, provides a unique and interesting learning environment.

Although the school is close to the town centre, it sits in an enviable half an acre of land, which provides lots of opportunities for delivering a varied outdoor curriculum.

We offer 15 hours of free education per week for 3 to 5 year olds and eligible 2 year olds, we also offer the 30 hour entitlement. There are 2 classes – Butterfly and Ladybirds. Each class is staffed by; a teacher and other qualified staff. Children with severe and complex special needs have additional support from trained staff.

If you care for a child under the age of 3 you are welcome to come along to our Stay and Play session ‘Play@Rothesay’. These sessions are a great way to introduce your child to the Nursery and you get to meet other parents and carers. The sessions run on Tuesdays from 1pm to 3pm and Thursdays from 9am to 11am.

We are open from 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday, wraparound care gives parents of 2 to 5 year olds the opportunity to pay for their child to use extra hours at Nursery.

Rothesay Nursery is a resourced nursery for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
