Emergency Contraception

If your usual method of contraception has failed (e.g. a condom has split, forgotten to take your pill) or if you did not use contraception, you can use emergency contraception.

Emergency contraception is available in two forms, a pill (sometimes called the morning after pill) which needs to be taken within 3 days (72 hours) or an emergency coil which can be fitted up to 5 days after your contraception has failed or you had unprotected sex.
