The Enable Project

The Enable Project is a groundbreaking initiative which promotes real inclusion for people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. We provide safe and friendly support as participants take part in daily activities to develop their skills and confidence during the transition from youth to adulthood, and beyond.

Who we are

Unlike a lot of traditional day services, we’re a family run, nurse led organisation which is fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We’re person centred, and our objective is to work with each participant to help them achieve their own personal goals. Because we’re regulated by the CQC, we’re able to provide personal care if required, so you don’t have to miss out if you need a little extra support. Our Activity Co-ordinators are fully trained and educated on all relevant policies and procedures, and we take a lot of pride in looking after them, so they can look after you.

We use state of the art software to prepare and maintain personal plans for each participant. This is where we keep a record of your achievements and your goals. It’s where we plan with you what skills you’d like to master and how we can help to make that happen. If you want us to, we can invite your family members, social worker or other healthcare  professionals to join your account so they can also see how you’re doing, and provide some input into your plan.

Costs and travel

The Enable Project is usually funded through direct payments that are allocated to you by your social worker. If you’re not currently in receipt of any financial support, we’d recommend contacting your local council to find out what you might be entitled to. Costs can also be paid for privately. This includes a pickup and drop off service from and to your home address, as well as transport between activities.

Ratios

Our normal ratio is three participants to each activity co-ordinator, but if you require extra support we can offer 1:1 assistance, including personal care as we are fully regulated by the CQC. Please contact us if you’d like to discuss this. We always carry out a full assessment of each participant’s needs in order to ensure everyone receives the right level of support whilst out and about with our activity co-ordinators.
