Luton Council’s Volunteer Scheme

Luton Council are always looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to help bring new skills, knowledge and experience into the council and to add value to services provided locally, so together we can improve the quality of life for all of those who live, work and visit Luton.

Developing opportunities for Luton’s residents to gain new skills and learning experiences is one of the Council’s key priorities and volunteering is seen a great way to achieve this – either for people to gain new skills, experience or training that can offer a route into employment or education, or the opportunity to do something positive that benefits your local community.

We understand that volunteering is a two-way process and that each volunteer has their own personal reasons and goals for becoming a volunteer and we’ll work with you throughout your volunteer journey to support you to achieve them.

Our intention with volunteering within the Council is to remove any potential barriers to participation and offer a range volunteering opportunities within council and key partner services, initiatives, events and activities, so that there is something suitable for everyone to get involved in and make their own unique contribution.

There are a variety roles and ways in which volunteers can contribute. More information can be found on our website, or you can contact our team by email or telephone.
