NHS Health Check: is a check of your heart health and is for adults in England aged 40 to 74 who have not been diagnosed with heart disease, stroke, diabetes or kidney disease. Your NHS Health Check assesses your risk of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease and some forms of dementia and gives you personalised advice on how to reduce it. A NHS Health Check takes approximately 20 minutes, it's free of charge (including any follow-up tests or appointments) and can add years to your life.

You'll be invited for an NHS Health Check every five years if you are between 40 and 74 years old, as long as you don't have an existing vascular condition. Usually your NHS Health Check will take place at a GP practice, in your community or in your workplace. Find out more about ways to get the NHS Health Check.
