Icknield High School

Icknield High School is a secondary academy in the North of Luton, catering to students from age 11 to 16.

We pride ourselves on our excellent GCSE results and offering an enriching educational experience to all of our students.

The ethos of the school is one whereby we uphold traditional values such as uniform, good behaviour, courtesy, hard work and respect for self, others and the school. 

This is coupled with a commitment to ‘Raising the Achievement of All’, aiming to fulfil the potential of every student through an innovative approach to learning and teaching blending the best of old and new within a supportive partnership with parents.

To achieve inclusion we thoroughly analyse and assess children with needs, by monitoring the quality of teaching and the standards of pupil achievements and by setting targets for improvement. Learning for all children is given equal priority and available resources are used to maximum effect. Icknield offers a wide range of provision for students with learning difficulties, Opportunities to take part in small group work, literacy/numeracy intervention and social skills. The school is the only resourced provision for Deaf students within Luton, and is the base for the Secondary and Post 16 Deaf Advisory and Support Team.
