Childline

You can talk to us about anything

Whether you’re feeling stressed, anxious, lonely or down—we’re here for you.

Our counsellors help lots of young people with all sorts of things, like bullying, problems at home and self-harm. Whatever it is, we can help.

Who does the service support?

Childline provides support to anyone under 19 in the UK with any issue that they may be going through. There are also information pages for adults and professionals too.

What can you expect from the Service?

Childline is a private and confidential service, meaning that what you say stays between you and Childline.

How do you get involvement from the service/who can refer/ request involvement?

You can speak to a counsellor directly on the phone.

Alternatively you can visit the website for an online chat, post on the message boards or look for information in our advice area.

What happens after the service has been involved?

If you call Childline, you will come through to a counsellor who will support you as best as they can. You can log on to the online chat which is one to one with a counsellor.

The counsellor may ask questions just to get a better idea on how to support you.

What can parents, families do if they are not eligible for this service/schools don't feel they can refer to this service?

Childline will try to support you as much as possible and they can provide you with information on other places that can help you.
